038: Futatsu no Spica, episode 6 picspam, OMG MY HEART

Or the episode that made Takayama Yuko one of my favorite Young Actresses. ♥ Highly (HIGHLY!) spoilerific for episode 6, so if you're a spoiler-phobe, stay away, obviously. There will be sparse commentary because anything I say will ruin the mood.

(WARNING: Because I am an idiot, I capped this from a 1280x720 video. Therefore, THE CAPS ARE HUGE. AND THERE IS A LOT. Don't let that deter you from looking at it, ne? ^^;; And hey, the quality is better than normal, so. 8D NOT AT ALL DIAL-UP SAFE)

The main character of this picspam, Omi Kei, played by Takayama Yuko. Her character was in love with Suzuki Shu, played by Nakamura Yuichi. If none of this pulls at your heartstrings, then you are cruel and heartless.

Flashback to when they found out that Shu plays the piano and he asks for requests. Kei yells out "Neko Funjatta" and this is the song that Shu's younger sister plays at his wake.

They place things on his body - pictures of galaxies and constellations and space, his space school uniform, his favorite orange juice, and recent pictures of the group that Kei recently took.

Kei is the only one that isn't crying.

School continues the next day and she looks fine, right?

No, not at all.

They have to finish running his laps in the training and though Kei deems it impossible, slowly, everyone stands up and runs his laps. Except for...

Kei.

We see flashbacks of Asumi, Marika, and Fucchi's times together with Shu, and all the while, Kei is just sitting there.

Fucchi calls out to Kei to run and finally, she picks herself up and runs with the rest, faster than everyone else, racing past them - even though normally, she's the worst runner in the class. (And this is about where I start crying again.)

She even surpasses Asumi, who is the fastest runner in the class. And then she finally breaks down, and my heart breaks with her.

The scene where she almost confesses that she likes him, right after he won her a necklace at one of those shooting carnival games.

I think the best way to describe it would be from [livejournal.com profile] gothicauthor's fic, Kizuna: "It's nothing like a drama. There are no silent, beautiful tears sliding down his face, no cute, adorable sniffles." It's just Kei, breaking down and sobbing her heart and soul out, now that reality has sunk in and the fact that the one that she loves is gone.

And now I go and cry my eyes out. And I've realized that I have a lot more crying scenes, so expect more, soon.

XD! Roflmao, it's okay! The drama itself is really good, and I really love the whole cast. ♥ The space camp part of it is interesting, too, although I'm not too sure if it's what you're thinking of. XD;;

Oh, awesome~! I'll have a lot more up soon, as soon as I find the folder of my other caps. XD
